Legend Bank looks to Kevin Woods to lead Mortgage Lending

Bowie, TX – April 1, 2012 – Legend Bank is pleased to announce the hire of Kevin Woods to the position of Senior Vice President, Mortgage Lending.

Mr. Woods comes to Legend Bank with over 10 years of experience in mortgage lending. He has experience working at several mortgage lending institutions, including Gateway Mortgage Group, Bank of America, and most recently MetLife Home Loans. His experience at large lending institutions is augmented by his experience running a mortgage lending operation with a group of business partners. Mr. Woods possesses a thorough understanding of mortgage lending processes and workflows and has consistently demonstrated an ability to increase efficiencies. His background is also highlighted by military service as a US Army Ranger.

Legend Bank Chief Lending Officer, Jay Bearden, is looking forward to the addition of Mr. Woods to the Lending Division. “Kevin has agreed to take on the task of navigating our mortgage lending department through a turbulent economy that is beginning to show signs of recovery and an improving real estate market. As a community bank, Legend Bank needs to be prepared to meet the needs of the communities we serve with great products and service. We also must overcome the growing regulatory burden imposed upon the banking industry. Based upon Kevin’s wealth of experience, demonstrated leadership skills, vision, and outgoing personality, I believe he is the right person to successfully lead our mortgage lending operations,” said Bearden.
